Joann Corporate Job Search Workshop FAQs

1. What is this Hudson Job Search JOANN Corporate Job Search Workshop?
Answer: This is a free program put on by Hudson Job Search designed specifically for former JOANN Fabric corporate employees to provide guidance, encouragement, and practical strategies for landing their next opportunity.


2. Who is invited?
Answer: This program is for all JOANN corporate employees.


3. What do I need to do to attend?
Answer: To attend you must register by going to https://hudsonjobsearch.org/joann-corporate-job-search-workshop-event/. It is important to register so that we can ensure we have a good headcount to prepare for all participants’ benefit.

4. Where and when will the event be held?
Answer: The event will be held at Hudson City Hall, 1140 Terex Road, Hudson, OH, on April 10th, from 8:00 until 11:00 AM.

5. Do I have to register to attend?
Answer: Yes, in order to get a proper headcount for logistics and training all attendees must register by completing our registration form by April 7th. Space is limited, so register early.

6. Will the event be virtual as well?
Answer: No. We believe these workshops are most effective live. Depending on registration numbers, we may record the event for later use.

7. What can I expect to learn from this workshop?
Answer: You will learn:

  • Resume, interview, and networking strategies from career experts
  • Insights on avoiding common job search pitfalls
  • Information on local resources available to support your transition

8. Is this workshop open to Warehouse/ Distribution Center employees?

Answer: No. This workshop is for Corporate employees only. A separate set of resources will be made available for Distribution Center Employees at a later date since their termination date is later.

9. Why is Hudson Job Search doing this instead of JOANN or the new owners?
Answer: HJS has been a part of the a local area community for more than 40 years. We have successfully assisted over 4700 individuals with free job search assistance. When we saw the lack of corporate responsibility on the part of JOANN and the new owners after the decision was made to close the facility, we decided we needed to step in an offer this concentrated program to assist those affected.

10. Can’t I just take advantage of HJS’s normal job search assistance program?
Answer: With the sheer number of employees affected by the JOANN shutdown, HJS does not have the manpower or resources to assist the JOANN workforce using our normal delivery model. However, we are taking the highlights of our program and incorporating them into this impactful workshop for the benefit of those who attend.
