Studies have shown that 92% of companies use social media for hiring and that three out of four hiring managers will search for a candidate’s social profiles. How are you leveraging social media to network, find opportunities and represent yourself as an appealing candidate?
The most popular platform is LinkedIn. However, more than half use Facebook and Twitter while a rising number of recruiters report utilizing Snap-chat, Instagram, TikTok and other smaller platforms during the recruiting and hiring process. If social media is an important tool for recruiters and employers, learning how to leverage social media during the job search is critical.
Rico Aliers is a seasoned training professional with more than 14 years of experience developing and delivering training programs, assessment tools, and curriculum. He currently teaches career and social media workshops at the Ohio Means Jobs center in Summit County to help job seekers find and retain full-time permanent jobs with benefits.
