Tips for the Perfect Online Meeting
For first time attendees, you should be prepared for some on-line networking from 7:15-7:30PM. You will be whisked in and out of 1 or 2 break out rooms for 5 minutes or so at a time with the objective of meeting a handful of new people you can connect with. You are encouraged to:
- Share your video. Use these sessions to perfect your online video presence – something that can help you through the interviewing process. (if you can’t join with your video it is understandable, but please don’t join and leave – you inadvertently leave someone to network with your unattended Zoom void, which isn’t great for them)
- Get connected. You never know who knows someone that can help you in your job search. Use these meetings as opportunities to build your LinkedIn connections and solicit advice from each other. Helping others is a great way to stay positive through the job search.
- Keep it positive. Whenever you’re networking, attitude is everything. Even when you’re not feeling it – finding the positive things about life, and opportunities will ALWAYS open more doors than focusing on fears, doubts and worries.
