How to Skillfully Promote Your Achievements

The Hudson Job Search meeting on January 17 will feature speaker Jeff Bissell on “How to Promote Your Achievements in the Job Search Skillfully.”

Bissell says, “Doing a good job promoting your skills, successes, and attitude is vital to developing confidence and connections during a job search.” Whether during a networking meeting, an interview, or a casual conversation with friends or acquaintances, the ability to communicate your value in a working environment is a crucial element to success.

The process begins with exploring and capturing your accomplishments succinctly on your resume, then developing a summary that can be presented in a minute or two in conversation.

Participants will learn the critical elements of developing effective accomplishment bullets on a resume, practice writing bullets on their accomplishments, creating the “rest of the story,” then have the opportunity to practice discussing their actions. This interactive session will help develop skills that can immediately be used in a job search. Bring a copy of your resume to the meeting.
